Disappointed that we can't have Alice Cooper on tomorrow?

Well, let him know! Our friend Seumas put together this online petition to let Mr. Cooper know just how upset the Rick Emerson audience is that he canceled on us at the last minute. Let your voice be heard! Or your name be written. Whatever.

That guy is a bastard! He's no longer getting my money.

Thanks for the petition Seamus!

I'm at least an hour behind (podcasts), so I wasn't entirely sure what was going on other than the quick email from Scotty saying he canceled and we needed a petition.

So . . . hope my wording was appropriate. I can take or leave most interviews, but was so looking forward to Alice Cooper.

I think the Alice Cooper interview was the grease that kept Rick in the mood for doing the Nelly and Joey Pants interviews, too... This oughtta be a fun Friday. :/

It will be fun if he plays the 5 phrases game.

I expect Cooper will next be seen at a corporate stockholder/motivational meeting doing a product promotional "cover" song like that other creep we all saw. Hey, Alice! Do NOT piss off Emerson's Army! - Eff You!

I can't believe anyone gives a shit about this washed-up piece of crap...he hasn't been relevant in 30 years, and the fact that he is a fundamentalist christian and a registered republican pretty much makes him an idol only in the eyes of Scotty J-minded pinheads...Don't loose any sleep over this, my friends...let's urge Rick to get an interview with a real rock icon. Alice Cooper is a fakir...by the way, for those who may not know their rock history, Mr. Cooper owes his noteriety in large part to Frank Zappa..now THAT would be a great interview..send Scotty J out to dig Frank up... as for Alice, he can just blow me.

Well, which is it dude?

Lemme try that again:
I judge an artist on his art, not on his religious/political preference.

I would otherwise be as much of a hypocrite as the people that don't read Savage Love only because Dan is gay.

I need to use the preview function more.

c'mon rw girl - you call that art? I also try not to judge artists by their political or religous views, but in the case of Mr. Cooper, the hypocrisy screams out even louder than his so called music.

And yes, dingo, I am aware of the difference between a fakir and a fundamentalist christian...you apparently did not detect the intended comic irony. However, I detect some hostility in your response...are you one of the Scotty J minded pinheads I referred to in the original post?

Ahh, religion is indeed still the opium (or in this case the beer) of the masses.......Peace be with you!

I did hear him on Dennis Miller, and his interview really wasn't that hot....I'm just waiting to see what Rick's going to do to Scotty to pay him back for his failures....

No surprise here that he'd do Dennis Miller...I'm sure it was simply riveting. Turds of a feather flock together...

Alice Cooper is still Alice Cooper and all that comes with that. I wouldn't listen to his radio show and I wouldn't let him preach to me, but I'd still interview him if I had the chance.

I mean, hell, Rick would LOVE to meet Rush Limbaugh but that doesn't mean he approves of or agrees with Rush's politics and religion.

For the most part, it's not a person's beliefs or leanings that annoy me or would drive me away from at least meeting them or interviewing them. It's whether or not they try to constantly preach to me. I can't say I've heard Alice Cooper get all preachy in general, so I would imagine he's not so bad.

That said, when the hell is there going to be a Gene Simmons interview with Rick? Gene is such a whore (I mean that in a good way) that I can't imagine he'd turn it down. Especially if it was made clear his Family Jewels would be pimped.

Seumas - you must be a middle child... you always seem to play the conciliator. Anyhoo, I was having a bad day when I began my rant...now that the Xanax has kicked in, I can't even remember what I was upset about. Here's wishing everyone better living through pharmaceuticals!

Hey Steveo-

No, I'm not a pinhead, just not sure why you would call Alice Cooper a fakir- as in a Hindu or Muslim ascetic.

Alice Cooper is not relevant in my life and never has been. But he's certainly not an ascetic.

Anyway, it means nothing.

Dingo - ...It occurs to me that if comic irony requires explanation, it is not comedy at all, but rather a pedantic musing in the same vein as Dennis Miller, who I went on to vilify in another post...I guess that makes me a hypocrite after all. I'm sorry about the implication that you are a pinhead. It looks like I am the pinhead here, but thats OK 'cause all good pinheads go to heaven!
