This was in my shower this morning.

I know, can you believe it? I never find spare change in the shower and low and behold, there it is- a bright, shiny quarter. Oh, and a creature from hell.

Sarah, you know I think you rock most immensely, so don't take this the wrong way, but . . .

Do you maybe have some sort of a hygiene problem? I mean, I have heard of crabs but that thing is a lobster!

Also, where in the hell are you storing your spare change if it is falling out in the shower?!

I thought you guys were playing "best ofs" when I turned on the radio.
Haven't you posted about a weird big bug before?

Rick had a giant spider or wasp nest or something on his porch a couple years ago. There were photos on his site and he was unnecessarily frightened by it.

Also, I seem to recall that last year Rick or Sarah had a photo of an enormous "daddy long legs" that one of them found in their house.

Rick has admitted that he is a disgusting slob and Sarah apparently only washes her hair when the moon is full or something, so god only knows what kind of science experiments these two are breeding!

I was wondering what happened to Derick...now we know. The metamorphasis is complete..I was sure he'd turn into a cockroach, but this is even better.

So, what you need to do is stop by the local sporting goods store, and pick up what is called "Birdshot" ammo for your handgun... you do have a handgun, right, Sarah? You live in SE, with serial rapists, and meth-heads...but anyway - take those birdshot rounds, load them into your handgun - and BLAST AWAY!! The birdshot is soft lead, and won't penetrate far.

I don't know if this will work, but Sarah, this is waht I believe was in your bathtub.

Freaky.

House Centipede

House centipedes (Scutigera) are common arthropods with long, flattened, segmented bodies with one pair of legs per segment. The house centipede is up to 1 1/2 inches long and has 15 pairs of very long, almost thread-like, slender legs. Each leg is encircled by dark and white bands. The body is brown to grayish-yellow and has three dark stripes on top.

Though house centipedes are found both indoors and outdoors it is the occasional one on the bathroom or bedroom wall, or the one accidentally trapped in the bathtub, sink, or lavatory that causes the most concern. However, these locations are not where they normally originate. Centipedes prefer to live in damp portions of basements, closets, bathrooms, unexcavated areas under the house and beneath the bark of firewood stored indoors. They do not come up through the drain pipes.

House centipedes feed on small insects, insect larvae, and on spiders. Thus they are beneficial, though most homeowners take a different point-of-view and consider them a nuisance. Technically, the house centipede could bite, but it is considered harmless to people.

House centipede control consists of drying up and cleaning, as much as possible, the areas that serve as habitat and food source for centipedes. Residual insecticides can be applied to usual hiding places such as crawl spaces, dark corners in basements, baseboard cracks and crevices, openings in concrete slabs, under shelves, around stored boxes, and so forth. For more information on insecticides please see Insecticides for Indoor Use. Centipedes discovered outdoors should not be controlled.

Gawd Dam! I'm a Vietnam war vet, have 7 major scars, done blue-collar work all my life - but that sci-fi channel, mutant, unearthly bug pegs my scare 'o meter! Call Rick a girl if you must - but I'll bet 50% of hetrosexual males would let out an "EEEEEK" if they saw that in their bathtub, too!

Call Terminex - NOW!! I don't want that damn thing within three states of where I live!

Gee Ron, you really took some of the steam outta my shovel, but I was just thinking what it would look like to photoshop that bug into a hairpiece for Rick... and well, it's certainly not my best work, but here it is anyway!

Joe, I love it. Anyone who has a giant poster of himself for an "I love me" wall deserves every photoshopped trick in the book. Seumas, I knew a girl who kept her spare change there allthough at the time she was employed as an "entertainer" in Manilla. She just used the most convenient pocket she had at the time I suppose. So quit hammerin' poor Sarah! A girl's got do what a girl's got to do and it ain't none of our business!! (wink)

Did the coins come out squished like putting them on train tracks or running them through the penny-machine at OMSI? :P

steve said...

Don't know about her, but I've dated a few that could've. When I was a kid our class took a field trip to OMSI and all of us guys were fascinated by this cutaway working model of a toilet. You could press this button and it would flush and everything. In the sixties that was as close as we got to a video game.

Seumas said...

From what I understand, this centipede is actually an import from another country, originally?

I wonder if it's one of those bugs people eat?! That'd be gross as hell.

Hey, a little sweet chili sauce and that thing'd be the chef's special at Pho Hung.
